About Community Kiln

Community Kiln is a non-profit ceramic studio in Framingham, MA. As a section of the Southern Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC)

we believe that every resident deserves access to, and the ability to engage in, a rich variety of arts and cultural experiences. Since 2017 we

have been providing access to artistic and cultural experiences in the MetroWest community. Our team of outstanding ceramic

artist-teachers offers our students proximity to working artists and dedicated instructors with years of personal and professional work.

Community Kiln's Vision:

Building the place where MetroWest’s visual artists, musicians,

performing artists, philanthropists, educators, human service agencies, community leaders and others come together to support the arts

and weave them into the fabric of the community.

Community Kiln, our ceramics program, is dedicated to educating

and inspiring a community of artists in MetroWest. Here, students

of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds can come together to

experience, learn about, and celebrate ceramic arts.

Community Kiln's Values:

 We believe:

  • Supporting the arts fosters civic engagement, stimulates economic activity, and increases cultural empathy—playing a significant role in sustaining the well-being of our community.
  • Arts education enhances the intellectual and emotional development of children, and creates opportunity for creative engagement of people of all ages.
  • Artists and arts organizations need, and deserve, a social environment that values and supports their contributions and encourages excellence.
